Community Choir

Context

Since 2020, the Ascension Choir has gathered for short and intense periods of training to prepare and perform beautiful music to enhance the liturgies at Christmas and Easter. In 2023, in response to feedback, the choir is establishing an ongoing prescence. As always, the choir welcomes wide and diverse participation from church members and the wide community - anyone seeking enjoyment through signing a variety of sacred music from Gregorian chant to gospel.

What’s Involved?

The choir’s musical director brings experience/leadership in choral and church music. Through breathing techniques, vocal and oral exercises, you will be trained to use your voice better, in unison and in harmony with others. Rehearsals combine physical and vocal exercises, as well as the learning of a wide range of music.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Ascension Church (8 Spring Park Rd, Midland WA 6056).
